"oh, you have a stuttering problem, do you?" the old cat was genuinely worried, but he smiled, and winked, " if you want, you can come to me at anytime, and I'll see what I can do to help. You have to help me sometime a day anyway." he chuckled, referencing the apprentice's code. he didn't really need help, but it never hurt to have a young cat learn discipline and respect for their elders.
-Come on, Stagpaw. We should get going. Also, Scrathednose, I know it's been a while since the moss in your nest was changed, could you wait a little longer till Stagpaw learns his duties? If you're not willing to wait, I can do it myself-
Silverstar would've said she was surprised, but honestly she wasn't. That elder could also catch his own prey. -Sometimes it surprises me you retired. - she purred
Silverstar just smiled -Well, it was a mistake- she remembered the previous leader. She had been appointed deputy when the leader was hanging on to only one life. She still had all of her's. -Well, keep it up this way and I'll lose all of them because of old age- she chuckled.
"Okay!" that was one of the only perfect sentences he could manage, at least without sounding like a snake or a race car. "And okay!" Stagpaw repeated with a nod,
-Alright, follow me, Stagpaw- she said -Also, Scratchednose, don't be afraid to ask me or someone else for anything else, should you need it- she started walking towards the warriors den and gestured at Stagapw to follow her.
The apprentice nodded and followed after. He wondered happily how the apprentices' den looked like once he could get to it and once all the blocked area was unblocked.
Silverstar stopped in her tracks. -Stagpaw, see that small cave entrance? That's the warriors den. Go on without me, I'll catch up with you later...I need to speak with Scratchednose...- she turned towards the elder -You could've told me be- she stopped herself -Sorry...Would you like to speak in my den?-
"whatever you like, mistress." he said, teasing the leader. "but I don't think we should do it today. look at Stagpaw. he's completely beside himself he gets to stay in the warrior's den. besides, even if you did approve it, I'm not sure how long it would take for it to be ready."
Stagpaw, with a nod, padded into the warriors' den. It was quite roomy and a bit destroyed, but it was his temporary home until the apprentices' den was fixed. And, hey, it wouldn't be that hard; everyone seemed friendly here.
Silverstar smiled. -You know how I feel when you call me "mistress"- she purred -It seems as if you're my slave- she said, but in a more serious tone -You're right...well, we can discuss all this tomorrow, but if we're gong to have more apprentices, sooner or later the warrior's den will become crowded...- and with a sigh, she added -And I'm going to have to deal with Frostheart's constant whines...-
